Partners Group announces adjustments to its leadership structure
Partners Group today announces an adjustment to its management structure in order to support the future growth of the firm. It has appointed 22 senior managers to a new and diverse global leadership team (the Global Executive Board), charged with driving forward the global business and corporate development of the firm. Members include partners and managing directors from different business lines across the firm's offices in São Paulo, San Francisco, New York, London, Singapore and Sydney, as well as its headquarters in Zug, Switzerland.
The Global Executive Board will work closely with the Executive Committee, formerly known as the Executive Board, a smaller group of 12 senior management members who are also members of the Global Executive Board. The Executive Committee is responsible for Partners Group's day-to-day client and corporate activities and reports directly to the Board of Directors.
The above adjustments will be effective from 1 January 2015.
Christoph Rubeli, Co-CEO of Partners Group, states, "As we have evolved into a truly global investment firm since our inception, so has the management of our organization become increasingly global both in terms of focus and participation. The new Global Executive Board is another important step on that evolutionary journey and mirrors the steps taken already within our global investment practice."
Peter Wuffli, Chairman of Partners Group's Board of Directors, adds, "The formation of a Global Executive Board with senior representation from all business lines is a natural next step for our global and growing organization. It is crucial for all regions to have representation at the top level of management and the Global Executive Board ensures this."
Under the new management framework, Partners Group announces two rotations in the Executive Committee as of 1 January 2015. Jürg Wenger has decided to step down from an operational role as Chief Operating Officer and will instead actively support the firm’s human capital management initiatives and take the lead on important office infrastructure projects. He joined Partners Group in 1999 and has been instrumental in providing the technological and operational support for the firm's rapid growth during his tenure to over 700 staff in 18 offices globally today. Following his transition, the Human Resources and Technology departments will report directly to the Co-CEOs.
Joining the Executive Committee as of 1 January 2015 will be Andreas Baumann, who has relocated to the US to take on a new role as Head Americas, after several years successfully leading Partners Group's Asia private equity business out of Singapore. He joined the firm's New York office in 2003 and spent the next seven years building out its private equity investment activities in the Americas, before moving to Asia in 2010. Andreas Baumann is a member of the Global Investment Committee, the firm’s most senior investment body charged with oversight of all investment recommendations, and in his new role will focus on portfolio solutions for large mandate clients in the Americas.
André Frei, Co-CEO of Partners Group, comments, “I would like to thank Jürg Wenger who has played a key role in facilitating our growth as a firm to-date – we are very pleased that we will continue to benefit from his vast experience and knowledge as we further expand our global reach. It is our pleasure to welcome Andreas Baumann to the Executive Committee, where we look forward to gaining from his breadth of international experience, which spans both investments and key client relationships."
