Meet our D&I Leadership Team
Nicholas Hegarty, US East Coast & Canada Region Head, Client Solutions Americas

Today, you are US East Coast & Canada Region Head, Client Solutions Americas based in New York. How would you describe your role and your time at Partners Group so far?
In my current capacity, I am fortunate to work with a variety of institutional investors helping to provide bespoke investment solutions. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the firm thus far as it’s been both challenging and rewarding; we’ve partnered with numerous clients to help them achieve their investment objectives. Also, I’m entrusted with leading a broader team with respect to business development and investor relations. Having the ability to lead and develop a team, while working with talented and results-oriented colleagues, is very motivating to me.
You are a member of Partners Group's Boots & Rucks Network. What motivated you to get involved in the Network?
It’s great to affiliate with like-minded colleagues from around the world with respect to the importance of service and ways we can continue to remain connected with the military and veterans. The Boots & Rucks Network affords us the opportunity to leverage our more recent skillsets and experience to promote a cause we find very important to our collective network. For example, here in the US, we started working with American Corporate Partners to provide guidance for service members transitioning from the military to potential civilian occupations. That opportunity is rewarding to us as we all experienced that significant challenge. An indirect benefit, as with all our networks, are that they help with the retention of current Partners Group employees given the meaningful experience we share.
Tell us about your time in the military.
I started at the US Air Force Academy – not too far away from our Partners Group campus located in Broomfield, Colorado. Upon graduation, I commissioned into the Air Force as a Second Lieutenant with the majority of my time focused on acquiring stealth technology platforms. It was a daunting role as we needed to manage time, cost and performance requirements. I stepped into a responsibility with projects that spanned millions of dollars in value with a large team that required coordinated leadership without the possibility of failure as our deliverables were mission critical. Other roles and responsibilities included deployments overseas in more challenging environments. Overall, I was very fortunate to be challenged and have the opportunity to grow personally and professionally.
"Our team has an intense focus on exceeding expectations for our investors with the aim of constant improvement. My military experience helped shape that perspective and it’s a powerful mindset to help identify and achieve impactful goals."
How has your military experience shaped your career and your work at Partners Group?
We prioritized three main values in the Air Force and I’ve kept them as guiding principles throughout my career. These include acting with integrity, service before self and excellence in all that’s done. These values mirror much of the behavior at Partners Group and, for our investors and with our teams internally, we focus on an element of fairness in our business dealings while holding ourselves to a high-performance standard recognizing that we are responsible to deliver the power of our firm platform. More specifically, our team has an intense focus on exceeding expectations for our investors with the aim of constant improvement. My military experience helped shape that perspective and it’s a powerful mindset to help identify and achieve impactful goals.
Diversity & Inclusion is a focus topic for Partners Group. How important is it for our investors?
It's very important for a few reasons. Our investors want us to mirror and represent their constituents to ensure that a variety of perspectives are considered. Additionally, there’s a strong business case for D&I as it helps to promote a greater variety of thought leadership to potentially better solutions and outcomes for our investors. We’ve built our team intentionally to account for D&I considerations and I believe that both we, and our investors, benefit from this.
