Tarak Mehta

Tarak Mehta is Partner and Co-Head of the Private Equity Goods & Products business unit, based in Zug. He has over 25 years of industry experience and serves on the Board of Directors of the firm’s portfolio company Ammega. Prior to joining Partners Group, Tarak was the Chief Executive Officer of The Timken Company, a US-based manufacturer of bearings and power transmission products. Before that, he held several senior leadership roles at ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation solutions based in Switzerland. At ABB, Tarak led both the Motion division and the Electrification Products division and served as a member of ABB Ltd.’s Group Executive Committee from 2010 onward. Tarak has also held a number of board and governance roles. He served on the Board of Trustees at the Inter-Community School (ICS) from 2016 to 2023, and from 2014 to June 2020 he was a Non-Executive Director of ABB India Limited, where he was also a member of the Audit Committee. Since April 2021, he has been a member of the Prysmian Group’s Board of Directors and the Control and Risks Committee. Tarak holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago and a BSME from Purdue University. He holds two patents and was recognized in 2025 by Purdue University as an Outstanding Mechanical Engineer.
