Impact investment is on the rise, with the increased involvement of more mainstream players in this part of the market. Partners Group’s Kevin Lu discusses how the entry of firms like Partners Group is changing the market.

Has the European private debt market had it too good for too long? That was the question put to experts including Partners Group's European Head of Private Debt, Christopher Bone, at a recent roundtable. The answer according to Christopher? "It feels like late innings, but we are prepared for a bit of stress. The disruption risk of each investment is something we look at very carefully."

Partners Group has been awarded an Operational Excellence Award by Private Equity International for its value creation success with Trimco International. It is the second year running that the firm has received a PEI OpEx award – it received one in 2017 for its value creation work with VAT Group.

Partners Group acquired Trimco, a Hong Kong-headquartered apparel-labeling producer, in May 2012 on behalf of its clients. During ownership, the firm worked with management to oversee a period of expansion in which the company quadrupled its business and grew from an Asia-centric manufacturing specialist into a global leader in its field. In January 2018, Partners Group announced its exit from the company.
