Buyouts: 'Off-Duty with Rob Collins'
Rob Collins, our Co-Head of Private Wealth, spoke with Buyouts for its “Off-duty” column about his career and life outside of work. When asked for a most rewarding moment, Rob tells the story about how, after he joined Partners Group, his father asked how to invest in private equity. As a retired New York City social worker, Rob’s father had savings to invest but lacked a vehicle through which to do so. This inspired Rob to help create the industry’s first purpose-built private equity fund for the US private wealth market in 2009, with Rob’s father writing the fund’s first USD 50,000 check.
